I want to see some quality pass plays against inferior defenses and we struggled to protect the QB and execute down field.

this script has been written every year except 2007 and last year

we don't practice things just like this in real games against our shite competition

later in the year, we don't run it when we desperately have to against legit competition...leading to losses or ugly scrape-by wins

the narrative then becomes, "well we have a young offense and didn't have time to work on that this year"

it's the whole #SecretPlaybook stuff from the Crowton era...every year...over and over

because it's not practice, it's a game. Successfully running a play against shite competition really isn't indicative of it working against better competition. If it isn't successful vs. LSU's D in practice, you won't see it in actual games.

I agree. While I don't believe Les is "calling the plays" the offensive philosophy is certainly 100% his. Last year was an anomaly. Was it because LSU had great skill players? Or was it because he felt shootouts were the way the 2013 team had to win games? Who knows? However, over the span of 3 different OCs and 4 QBs we have virtually seen the same thing on offense. There's one common denominator.

The playcalling is very predictable. All you have to do is look at the personnel groups and you'll have a pretty good idea of what's coming. The "hurry up" is almost ALWAYS a 2nd down toss-dive. There's no "holding back for SEC play". This IS the offense. The only time they expand from the usual very vanilla playcalling is when they absolutely have to. It's why under Les LSU has been a great comeback team.

As far as last night, I like AJ as the starting QB, but if you're going to play Harris, let him air it out a bit. It's a waste of time to have him come in and just hand-off to run out the clock.

Why wait until the game is in hand to stick Magee in? I think Williams has earn a few carries at the TB spot. We know what Magee can do.

Your defense was suffocating last night, why not let your offense take a few chances at attacking the middle of the field? A mistake would not have killed you. Better last night than against SEC competition

Look, Les has been great. I certainly don't want him to leave LSU. Nevertheless, though early on it looks like you've got some pretty talented guys on offense, you can see the same 2-3 loss script on offense being written.
