I think they stopped back in the late 90's when carriers quit carrying nuclear weapons.
I've there was talk of bringing them back. The Corps will disappear if they don't get back to their Naval roots.

I hope so. Hopefully this incident will make the "politicians" at the pentagon think long and hard about this.
