The Defense plays 9 in the box and double covers our receiver and then we wonder why we can't run the ball?? If we lined up in a 4 receiver set that would allow some space to let our running backs run through some lanes and not having 5 or 6 o-lineman trying to block 9 guys . We still don't know what Jennings can do or the o-line can do because the predictable play calling has put both at a disadvantage. The shite gets real starting next week so I guess we find out .

It may come as a shock to you, but tight ends and running backs are receivers.

There has been at least one long pass out of this formation.

I know people are going to say, it was ULM, and I agree to a point, but when you are as young on offense as we are, you should use these games to their full advantage. I'm hoping it will all work out next week, and it should.

What I want most is for them to let Jennings just play. Don't bottle him up in the beginning of games. They did that against Iowa and then Wisconsin, and then try to tell him to throw us back into the game. I think it's stupid to hold your QB back.

ETA: and stick with one RB. Having guys swap in and 9 UT will not work. I hate the committee approach unless there is one guy leading the committee. The main back needs to average 18+ carries a game and the second should be around 9-10. I really don't care who gets the bulk just as long as they are the best of the group.

I don't think Les Miles understands simple physics.

One receiver formations are inherently inferior at breaking gains because crowds mean fewer holes.

This is Les for you, his trickery never ends, don't think for one minute that the offense is not using 4 receiver sets in practice, he is not going to allow teams to use footage of games where he doesn't need to use formations like that to score points, if the RBs can run decently with 9 men in the box, just imagine how they will run spread out, Hilliard is having a good year look for him to gain some major yardage in future games
