If starving children in India could survive off of my wasted ketchup....well, I'm just going to hell.

Exactly what my wife says. But my question is 'Why?' How hard is it to quirt the amount of ketchup you want?

True story... a young female co-worker was bitching to me about her new husband:

Her: "Zach, he says I shouldn't use paper towels to clean up the kitchen. He says I should use cloth towels because they can be re- used."

Me: "But cloth towels have to be washed in the laundry. Where is the savings?"

Her: "That's what I told him."

Me: "Is he Jewish?"

Her: "Yes."

Me: "I recommend that you negotiate the freedom to throw away paper towels vis-a-vis flushing the toilet after peeing."

She cracked up. Don't know how that marriage worked out. Not optimistic.

The obesity isn't from school lunch, it's from poor choices of parents at home especially in low income households that eat alot of shitty food.

We can do a lot in the schools though. Fixing school lunches is just a band aid and they are being heavy handed about how they are doing it. What they need to do is start teaching kids how to cook a wide array of meals in school. Basic cooking skills can go a long way to preventing them from eating fast food.

I hate that pushy fatass bitch.

We have to put up with her incompetent husband. Nobody elected her to shite.

I guess that hospital in Chicago still hasn't filled the $300K makeup AA job she had before they moved to washington.

Oh, she has been sooooooooo mistreated her entire life.

Her kids are going to grow up obese! The lunch menu at Sidwell Friends School says that they are having Philly Cheese Steaks for lunch Monday.

here’s a sign in the lunchroom of Minnesota’s Sartell High School: Students can choose two packets of barbecue sauce, or three ketchup packets, or two ketchups and a mustard, or just one packet of mayonnaise.

What is your problem? Is it (1) they don't have a wide enough variety of condiments to choose from (2) that they aren't allowed to take an unlimited amount, or (3) Obama! I just hate him and his wife no madda wut!

yeah it's a pretty decent idea eating healthy is certainly not offensive or preachy in and of itself but it seems very heavy handed the way they're dealing it out

SO heavy handed! How can you only allow a child THREE packets of fricken ketchup at lunch? Ketchup is a fricking vegetable! They should have a whole bottle to themselves if they want. This is America.

It is pretty obvious most people didnt read the linked article.

Schools dumping the fed dollars. Kids bringing their lunches from home.

Seems like conservatives should be thrilled.

1. Wow. You really stay up late. I had been asleep for 3 hours when you posted.

2. My point is obvious to everyone here (except you). Liberals want govt to micromanage every detail of our lives because they know what is best for us.

It's far worse than you realize. They must use wheat pasta and breads, brown rice, and each meal must have a certain calorie value. But they go further, you must ensure that each food group is included but in specified limits. Her guidelines actually classify spaghetti sauce with meat as a vegetable. Kids hate the fricking wheat pasta and the brown rice. My wife has to deal with this every day, the person that has to do the "recipes" for the meals has a nightmare job.
