seen a 225-pound young man fly?
Leonard Fournette may not have gotten airborne, but he did something most 225-pound athletes can't do last weekend, winning the 100-meter dash at the Louisiana Class 4A track and field regionals in Metairie with a time of 10.68 seconds, according to NOLA.com.
By comparison, two top prospects in the state of Alabama who are also top track athletes -- Hoover defensive back Marlon Humphrey and Oxford running back Roc Thomas -- ran the 100 meters in 10.63 and 11.00 at recent sectional meets, respectively, according to al.milesplit.com. Humphrey weighs about 175 pounds, while Thomas is about 195.
Fournette, who earned boys' overall MVP and track MVP honors, also won the 200 meters and ran a leg on St. Augustine High's winning 800-meter relay team. He now moves on to compete in the state track meet on May 4 in Baton Rouge.
Anybody that says this guy isn't fast, is insane!.For reference, Nick Chubb (UGA freshman) ran a 10.69 in April. Thing is, Fournette did this as a junior. Chubb's fastest time as a junior was 11.15.
