In a lot of ways he's the Democratic Reagan-- nothing sticks to him, he does a lot of stuff that his base doesn't like but that will be ignored in 10 years as he's remembered historically, his opponents tend to self-destruct.

Reagan wasn't perfect. But the successes are why he was well-liked. Obama doesn't have that to fall back on.
