No one over a 10 hdcp should play the back tees. I'm scratch but haven't played competitively for a while. Most of my friends are 12-20 handicaps so I usually just play the second set of tees with them.

I bet you do. Usually around 6200-6500yds. I'm a senior, and play with other seniors over 50. Love to play from the tips but they would kick my arse.

I would go as far as to say that no one over a scratch should play tips unless it is a short course in the 6500 range, then only if the course is open.

1.4ish here. I play with the group I play with though and that is typically the whites or blues depending on the course.

Like I said, I am around a 1.4 or something on my card. I am a poor driver of the ball but hell with irons in my hands and on the green. I prefer to play shorter courses that don't require me to fly a drive in the 275 range because I simply can't do it.

The best advice I have ever heard someone give was for people to play the tees appropriate to their game. They will enjoy it much more and won't congest the course nearly as much.
