The truth of course is that cultures can and do change in any number of ways, both good and bad.

In my personal frame of reference, football celebrations at the college level probably peaked over 20 years ago. I found some of it trashy and some of it hilarious. I mean, The U in the late 80's had to be the peak of all that stuff.

To the contrary, most of the stuff I see nowadays is pretty freaking collegial. LSU and The Gumps for instance play in these death matches, but for the most part do it cleanly, and speak well of one another thereafter. Which is pretty remarkable when you think about it.

College football Culture is overwhelmingly positive on the field in my estimation. From time to time the human ego emerges as it has done for millenniums.
