Bobby Bowden: I like for them to give Joe Paterno and I our vacated wins back

Thanks Bobby! Of course, this may have helped more two years ago, when the media was roasting Paterno every chance they could. His change of heart, if that's what this is, could stem from the NCAA's recent guidelines for Sexual Assault, which include
Sounds kinda like what Paterno did, no? For the record, I am not terribly concerned with the vacated wins returning. I'd be happy with all remaining sanctions being immediately repealed, the $55million being used inside the state of Pennsylvania for sexual abuse programs, and feelings of shame for all the internet trolls on TD.com and elsewhere.

Joe and a bunch of other people at Penn State knew about child rape, and either did nothing or actively covered it up. You left that fact out of your OP.

Should have never taken Paterno's wins in the first place.

Sounds when does one go back and apply new laws to previous decisions?

Might be right on that. Hell, he said in hindsight he wished he had done more.

Given the choice between trusting the advice of Joe Paterno or trusting the advice of those that would make a statement such as yours, I would go with Joe 99 times out of 99.

Rummy, no new laws have been applied to what happened previously. My point is, after publicly blasting Paterno for not taking charge and ensuring the investigation was completed correctly, Mark Emmert issues guidelines saying Do not take charge and ensure the investigation is completed correctly.

JoePa and Penn State deserved everything they received in penalties. Should have hit the program harder. Shut it down for a couple years.

Just stay away from the Penn State rivals boards. Those lunatics are rubbing off on you. Stay away from Franco and the cardboard Paterno crowd.

I'd give back Bowden's wins back way before Peterno's.

Another quote from the second link. The procedures in place at the time were lacking, and most any sane person would agree with that. But again, Paterno got blasted for doing EXACTLY what the NCAA would later say to do. Short of getting the FBI involved, which is what he may have done if foresight was hindsight, what else should Paterno have done? The NCAA does not want "the most powerful man in the state" potentially ruining someone's life if the allegations were proven false.
