Not exactly. It can be designed that way which LSU's defense is designed to do. Unfortunately for it to work you need elite LB play. I played in a 4-3 and typically the D line spent time squeezing down blocks and taking out pullers. It allows you to get a linebacker, who should be the best tacklers on your team, to be in the hole waiting on the tailback.

I noticed. It's been like this for two years. Montgomery and Edwards were last DE's to squeeze. Lb's don't scrape well either. Those things should go hand-in-hand.

I can't figure our if DLine scheme is gap control. Our DT's don't penetrate and turn themselves sideways a lot. That should free up Lb's. It's odd.
