ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Democratic fundraisers say Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has told them he would enter the presidential race even if front-runner Hillary Clinton is a candidate, suggesting she would face at least some competition for her party's nomination from an established elected official if she runs.

Mr. O'Malley's camp had signaled earlier this year that the governor likely wouldn't join the field if Mrs. Clinton sought the Democratic nomination. But some party fundraisers say they have come away from private conversations with Mr. O'Malley with a clear impression that he wouldn't stand down should Mrs. Clinton run.

I like what I've seen from him so far but I'd like to know more. Not sure how much of a challenge he can present to HRC though. Hope he runs.

He's another progressive, i.e., he's a socialist, anti-Constitutionalist. What more do you need to know ?

Congrats! You hit the trifecta with the first three responses to this thread.

I like O'Malley. More so than Hillary for sure.

A two-term governor who leaves office in January, Mr. O'Malley signed a law raising the state's minimum wage to $10.10 an hour by 2018. Last year, after the shootings at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., he signed legislation banning various kinds of assault weapons and imposing new limits on the size of gun magazines. The same year, he pushed through the first state gas-tax increase since 1992, which supporters said was needed to improve the state's aging transportation network.

This summer, Mr. O'Malley said unaccompanied minors illegally entering the U.S. shouldn't be returned to home countries where they would be in danger—a position at odds with the White House, which was warning that children who weren't eligible to remain in the U.S. would be sent home.

No thanks.

At least he would take the progressive votes away from neocon Hillary which might lead to a poor candidate being nominated

Seems more and more Dems aren't too comfortable putting HRC in the driver seat. Can't blame them - she'll have a shitload of baggage.

HRC is toast. Just saw that she refuses to answer if she backs her husbands welfare reform. Weak. Fake. Toast.

On "Meet the Peas" today he sais that the Feds haven't done anything for Cities since Carter and said 130 + million was only a "spit in the bucket" compare to how much money Baltimoe would need to fix things. He is the more money more Government typical Democrat which us no surprise.

You obviously don't know much about O'Malley. He has managed to lose the support of the majority of Marylanders who got sick and tired of his love for taxes (the man never met a tax he didn't love, heck he's the one who proposed the 'rain tax'), his cronyism, and his total lack of leadership. The fact that his lieutenant gov Brown lost was a strong vote on O'Malley's pathetic record and the fact that people didn't want a continuation of the same losing policies. Maryland has some of the highest taxes in the country, makes doing business in the state very difficult, and the state has lost taxpayers and businesses to neighboring states at an alarming rate. This is an article from 2012, but nothing changed for the better in his last 2 years in office.
LINK

He made owning a gun in Maryland extremely onerous and politics were his only motivation for his decisions. The jerk doesn't stand a chance in h--- and I hope he disappears into the sunset very, very quickly.

I like how hard liberals are working to try to act like they aren't dying to vote for Hillary. They'll half-heartedly complain about her now , but as the election gets closer she'll magically transform into the single greatest human being in human history and you will be a RACIST SEXIST HOMOPHOBE (!!!!!!) for suggesting otherwise.
