There are a lot of people who are pissed and hate it though because there's no "open world" like there was in The Sims 3.

They didn't. That was a big controversy too. People were pissed but it doesn't seem like there was anything they were trying to hide.
LGR (a well known Sims reviewer) posted on Twitter that he has played it a little over 6 hours and really likes it. When some people saw him say that they were shocked because they thought he was going to rip on it.
