if they did something illegal they are.
I'm not lawyer so not really sure what they'd be charged with.
shite,by the looks of it,the dude with the box cutter was trying to defend himself from assault.

Nope. The gratuitous face punches once they have him on the ground are obviously battery. When those security guys decided to play police and attempt an arrest, they assumed the same responsibilities as a cop. If that was a police officer punching a guy like that, the OT would have exploded.

No question that the choking, body slam and face punches after he is down are problematic for the security guys.

As a private citizen, you can use force to protect yourself or another. They weren't doing that in the beginning, then when he submits and they keep it up, that is a battery.
