With Smith's size, receiving is his only advantage.

He saw a few plays early last year. I'm assuming the reason we haven't seen more of him is we have better blockers, and he has shown the same pass catching ability in practice as we saw Saturday night.

I, for one, will be surprised if he becomes a part of the offense moving forward. Dropping a ball is one thing. Giving up your feet, squaring to use your chest and still dropping it is another.

They were pretty bad, the blocking was much better last year from the same guys and the catching as well, although not many chances in that department.
