Most games, the winner of the snitch wins. They say that in the first book. And if you catch the snitch and lose, it's a bad game. That means you're down by over 150 points at that moment that you caught it. That's a blowout and not a good game to be watching unless your a fan of the team doing the blowout.

But a good coach would flip his shite if a player did something that mind numbingly stupid. It's just clear to me that when she was writing, JKR really doesn't understand how sports work.

Why would you do this? That is fricking stupid. Catching the snitch while your team is down to the point of losing if you catch it is about as idiotic as shooting at your own goal. And in the World Cup no less. No one would do that. Makes no sense.
