I have a 12 year old daughter and I promise she'd have handled that better.

Walk Ons tailgate was pretty good. And it wasn't catered by crappy arse Aramark. Why in the world would you have Aramark cater your tailgate?

You don't understand conventions. Aramark holds a contract with Nrg stadium and the convention center to do food service and concessions. The run the kitchens, employee the cooks, servers, etc..

if you are having an event on site of nrg stadium you don't have a choice of anybody else.

I don't have a dog in the fight because I didn't go, but I learned in Dallas that these big tailgates just aren't for me. Sounds like a lot of others should now realize this. I don't know how you don't expect long lines and expensive beer when you go to one of these events.

Here's hoping we don't play another neutral site season opener for a while past Wisconsin so none of you guys have to bitch about this in the future.

I went to the Dallas ones as well. If you think those were bad, trust me, you would have gone postal in Houston.

I expected long lines. The guy that announced the tailgate assured that beers would be discounted. I'm sure someone could find and paste his posts. But I didn't expect them to oversell to the extent that they did, and have such inadequate seating. You would not believe the amount of people forced to sit on the floor and eat.

And one pass through the line to get a sandwich? For $50? Didn't expect that over a 4 hour period.

Holiday Inn parking lot. It was catered by Walk On's. The jambalaya and fried boudin balls were so good!!

Actually I do understand conventions, but thanks for playing.

I would have had it off site if Aramark was my only choice for catering.

What? So, expect it to be shitty, and there's no room for improvement? Is that how you want the LSU Alumni Association in one of the largest cities in America to be remembered?

That's just unacceptable. Whoever organized this should be slapped.

Actually I have heard from multiple people that the tailgate was a complete and utter embarrassment. People that bought tickets ahead of time that were "guaranteed" a meal ticket were not provided a meal ticket because you ran out of food? You had one bar set up for that many LSU fans? What the frick did people pay $50 for?

Sounds like a shite hole of a time and a complete embarrassment for the Houston Alumni Chapter. I live in Houston and would never contribute a nickel to the alumni chapter here for the shitshow you guys called a tailgate before the game on Saturday night.

All I'm saying is that each neutral site game we play the local alumni group throws a party and it becomes a complete bitch fest. Dallas had the chance to do it twice and by accounts it got better the second time around but still people were on here bitching about it.

I don't know if neutral site games will go away. Too much money involved maybe.

And, from what I've read in this thread, the complaints sound legitimate. Of course you won't please everyone, but when you are seeing a repetitive theme to the complaints, maybe there is something to it.

You are either blind, or was there at the very beginning or very end. It was MASSIVE. More people on floor.

You can't be serious. I got in there right around 3:45 and left at 6:20. I was there for the bulk of it and there absolutely were not MASSIVE amounts of people on the floor where I could see. I was standing right by the VIP section watching the bama game. The exit to the food area was directly behind us. We saw the group of people sitting on the floor right at the exit and it was a small fraction of what was in the building.

So where was this massive crow sitting that you speak of? Were they sitting in front of the stage while the band was playing? The other side of the room had tables so I doubt they were sitting on the floor in the middle of the tables. Were the sitting in the restrooms? I went in once and didn't see anyone on the floor. Didn't see anyone sitting around the area where the bars were either.
What about the merch area? Nope, no one sitting their either.

Damn, either I'm blind or you're stupid. I seriously doubt 20/20 vision is considered blind, so it must be the other.

What's up with the Houston chapter and the name-calling? Petty. Makes the whole group look bad.

I wouldn't say it was the worst experience ever, but I read the website and saw it said join us for food, beer, music, etc. We bought tickets and saw afterwards in the FAQs that it was a cash bar.

It just wasn't worth the money. There were maybe 4 TVs for the 6000 people there.

The main offense is Stephen getting on here and degrading Big Woodrow's. I guarantee whoever went to Woodrow's got more value for their $ and a better overall experience.

lol, that was in the very back, next to the stage. Your back would have been to all of the people sitting. Not gonna argue with you. I was there. I was one of the massive amounts of people sitting on the concrete floor, trying to eat my one plate of food. Others have said the same thing. If people want to believe you that there was not massive amounts, so be it.

They were sitting just past the serving stations, between the VIP section and the food section, all along the walls, then across towards the middle. Additionally, across the floor, on the other side as well. Basically, anywhere you could find an open spot on the floor. Some next to the tables. Spread out from where the VIP and stage began.

Based on your posts, I wouldn't call you either. I
would, however, call you a liar and apologist. Which to me, is worse than being stupid or blind.

Which is it?

FWIW, besides the crap food and line for beer, our group had a good time.
