Did the Houston Alumni make any money off of this, and if so do they report or cut a check of their earnings to the LSU alumni assoc? And if so how much? Or is this priviledged info?

I was there. The people that are complaining are the types to cry when their coffee is too hot. The line to get in the doors, took us less than 5 minutes to get through. The line for food stretched all the way across the building when I got in line. Guess what, I was piling food on my plate within 5 or 6 minutes. I got in line while my girlfriend went to the restroom. When she came back and got in line with me, we were the next people in and I even let about 10 people skip me. The line moved very fast. The band was great, we loved that they came in. BTE, not a fan, never have been. I think a good cover band would have been better and probably cheaper. Either way, I don't care. I still enjoyed having music. Beer and liquor lines were my only complaint. It took me probably 15 to 20 minutes to get my last couple of drinks. Certainly could have used more tables and places to sit. A lot of people were sitting on the floor. Would have like to have had a couple more TVs. Due to their being so few and us wanting to watch the bama game, we were very limited as to where we could go in the building. So we stood at the rail of the VIP section the entire time. Again, no big deal. That was our choice. Food wasn't the best and it was far from the worst. If you go in to a catered event expecting the best food of your life, then you're delusional. But then again, so is the majority of our fan base. You should know to expect this coming in. It's tough to make great food for 5k people. We had a good time and left happy. No one in our group was complaining at all.

Thank you Austin Cajun. I can assure you nobody from the chapter is concerned about what a dozen or so fools who bitch about everything have to say! Very glad to you and so many enjoyed the time! Delusional was the perfect word you used! I prefer to say clueless to reality!

So your saying that it was mismanaged and whoever was in charge was just letting as many people in as possible instead of stopping at a manageable number?

No! We turned away quite a bit of people. I was estimating of that number.

The food was fine! Bar-b-que and Mexican cooked and catered by Aramark!

Why would you be proud of this? That's like celebrating great restaurant food made by SYSCO.

You should definitely not be the face of the LSU Houston Alumni Chapter.

Okay, fair enough, I guess. I didn't go, and problably wouldn't have either. But 50 bucks for jambalaya, tacos etc., seems mighty steep, especially with a cash bar. And I know you had to pay the band, just seems a little pricey for cold air. Thats probably why you are getting the grief. Half of that price, and most would of thought you get what you pay for. I don't think a lot of people go what they paid for. My two cents. Good luck in the future.

I was there.

- Seating was horribly inadequate. There were more people sitting on the concrete floors than there was seating.

- You could walk through food line once, and get one plate of food. Period. For the entire 4 hours.

- Once you got your food, most were forced to sit on the concrete floor and eat.

- You could buy $50 tickets at the door, but it only allowed you entrance. You had to pay for food and drinks on top of that.

Honestly, it was so poorly planned, I was surprised that it was sponsored by LSU.

All of this. $50/person to have a high school concession stand bbq sandwich that we had to sit on the floor to eat. Absurd stadium-level prices on beer after waiting in line for half an hour each time. Very inadequate
televisions. Never again.

It was a HUGE disappointment. And compared to the Dallas chapter Alumni tailgate at the Oregon game, night and day.

If they did the same tailgate again, with people knowing what they know now, I doubt they would get 1/4 of the people showing up. Sitting on the floor trying to eat a BBQ sandwich was miserable.

Then getting up to stand in line for a beer for a half hour? No thanks.

It was clear to me that they WAAAAAYYYYYYY oversold the tickets, with no regard for the people attending.

Needed more seating.

Drink lines were all 30 deep the entire time.

Women's bathroom lines were moving faster than men's cause 3 out of the 4 urinals were covered.

BTE and golden band were great.
