He was hit as he threw, but instead of flinching and throwing off his back leg, he stepped into the throw for the completion and took the hit like a boss man.

He had a spotty first half with less than 40% completion but was something like 3 of 5 including the pass you referenced in the second. He had a couple of drops by receivers and a couple of questionable interference no-calls but despite those issues he came through looking confident and like a very able passer. He is going to be something special before it's all over. 1-0 as a reliever and 2-0 as a starter looks a lot like a winner.
