Ditch the Matchlight bro. Lump is very nice. Make sure it's cleaned out good and gets plenty of oxygen. If the thermometer you are referring to is on the pit and not a good aftermarket digital, chances are really good that its reading wrong. I've heard they can be 50-75 deg's off straight out the box.
