I like the Rant and all but this is the kind of thread that I loke to hop into...

First, I have always said that it is better for a college offense to pick a handful of plays and do them nearly perfectly. That OC we had from '07 and '08 tried to get them to do so many that they mastered nothing. Also, while one of the young QBs was setting all time NCAA records for pick 6's, the other one (you know the one) was becoming so afraid to throw a pick that when he did start he could trust no one. He had future NFL receivers but could only throw to them after they had separation or after they had beated the DB on fly routes and he still threw the ball 5 yds to far.

Back to the happy things about Tiger FB. After watching Mett throw to his rec's back shoulders and seeing the trust that he had in his two top WR's. I remembered what it took to have a passing game again. Thank goodness that Jennings is capable of doing some of those things right now and thus he will do more of them and do them better as he goes forward. I trust in CCC and it does look like he is in the middle of rewriting LSU's offensive legacy while we watch.

I really don't think that Les would play a RB who couldn't block. I'll bet that LF has been working on blocking more than he did at carrying the ball.

As for throwing the ball five yards down the field on third and 8... There is a HUGE/ENORMOUS difference between throwing that ball after the receiver has finished a hook route and throwing the ball so that it will get to that spot a moment after the rec turns around to catch it so that he can evade that CB for a few more yards and a first down. Watching that old QB play was an exercise in anger management half of the time.

Indeed, it seems like we both see this the same way. I put a lot of weight in the "Well coached" theory. The offense and the staff were all in some kind of voodoo trance for some reason while every other team was enjoying an offense that could do these things to varying degrees of success.

Things will get even better from now on though. I truly believe that and it is mainly because3 of Cam and the staff. Jennings wont be here very long but the happiness will continue after he leaves.
