1. AJ will be the quarterback this year

Agree, but we'll see Harris, too. He took a couple of steps forward last night. And, he deserves credit. But, he is going to be a liability at times this year. And, he's going to struggle against good teams.

The thing I found the most encouraging was how well he got the ball out of his hands on some of the intermediate routes. He showed anticipation and threw on time. Then, when it broke down, he made plays downfield.

2. LSU's secondary is legit. End of discussion

Totally agree.

3. Offensive line is good, but not as magnificent as thought to be

The OL was poor last night. Poor. The good news is that I think they will improve. And, they still could become a dominant group. They better, because if they don't we easily lose 4 games.

4. DL will be a major test

The DL was dominated. People love to point to the DTs but our DEs were huge problems in the running game last year...and it doesn't look like they have improved. There are teams on our schedule that are going to take advantage more than Wisconsin.

5. WR's are legit.

Too soon. They are young. And, you can see the talent. But, I'm not ready to say this group won't be a liability this year.

agree

7. Linebackers are fast but will essentially be a crutch for the DL till the line strengthens up

I agree. Our linebackers are good. It just may be hard to see.

8. RB. I know LF looked subpar, but it really isn't so

I'm not worried about our RBs. If our OL gels, our RBs will be the strength of the team. I'm definitely not worried about Fournette. On his few carries, you could see the burst. He and Hilliard are going to be good.

9. Coaching

Both coordinators had to change on the fly. Both were able to find and exploit weaknesses. Both had significant weaknesses on their units. People are going to complain, but what we saw last night was an example of excellent coaching, IMO.

Nice post BTW.

Maybe too soon, but Bama, Ole Miss, TAMU, USCe, Arkansas gave up at least 260 yards through the air, and that was against teams with at least a pulse. I mean even Mizzu gave up 250 to South Dakota State.

We have fast WRs, we have tough WRs, and we have WRs with height. That does not even add in Dupre, Chark, Peterson, Leslie, or Spears. Dural is a beast and possible 1000 yard WR

Because of the number of routes we run, because of the level of our route runners, our WRs can get open in these terrible secondaries. As long as Jennings is on point, as long as we limit the drops, the WRs could be a real strength, instead of the perceived liability they were before the season.
