If you grow up in the U.S. as an openly gay male (and in most other countries) - at best you're verbally abused your entire childhood - and at worst you're beaten up every day. Likely by some of the folks posting in this thread.
Given that - I have absolutely no problem with a gay man using his gayness to his advantage in the media.

You're so full of shite. There was a gay guy in our class when I was in high school and he was flaming gay....like dressed, talked and openly acted gay.
Nobody beat him up or ridiculed him he was left alone. And that was a private school in the delta full of white conservative country folk.
