Fun fact - In Alabama, when you apply for food stamps, the packet that you are to complete includes a voter registration, this started in 2008. I'm not sure if other states requires this. Also in 2008 the application process eliminated verification of employment/income status. Also family assistance did away with the jobs program. That being said they have made it easir for people to qualify/lie without the hassle or responsibility to use the system for a temporary time, or motivation to better your situation.
