There are some out there. In the 80's & 90's there was probably around 150+ long line boats in Louisiana. Not it is probably down to about 20 or less.

They also have some boats in Texas and in the panhandle of Florida.

Imports (fresh tuna, mahi,etc.) from South America and Asia and regulations (difficulties in getting permits and restrictions like no live bait for long liners) plus a few other factors have changed that.
