I'm from Minden, and I would never live there now that I'm in college. However, let me assure you that there's quite a few really nice neighborhoods and some old money. I'd primarily never live there because the schools suck, there's nowhere to eat, and generally nothing to do
Sure, when I go back I get a good laugh at some of the trash, just like I do every LA small town. But overall, the town is really clean and it gets 100x worse than Minden throughout the state. fact.

It is going downhill quick though. Unfortunately, that can be said for a lot of towns in Louisiana.
