Super Record, Shimano Di2 and RED are honestly overkill for 95% of cyclists out there.
However since cycling seems to be an old/rich man game, you can bet they will sell a billion of these.
I raced on ultegra and 105 and those are fine. You will not win a race because you installed DA or RED over a lesser group. However, once you go below 105, there is a definite loss in both quality and durability. SRAM and Campy are similar although frick CAMPY.
The only mechanicals I had in a race was due to the failure of my Record components to be dialed in properly. I'm not a fricking pro cyclist who has a wrench on staff all the time to keep tweaking that shite.
Shimano is 'install and forget' for the most part. The shite just works and its precision built by little OCD japanese people.
