You could put American Pie in almost any post 50's decade and have more or less the same movie.

Dazed and Confused came out two decades after the 70's.

So the most 90's movie might premiere later in this decade.

The 90s was a very odd decade to pin down. Early 90s was very late 80s. Then immediately, grunge took over for a while. Then the late 90s were more like a well polished version of the 80s.

And although it does get too much credit other times it doesn't get enough credit, Pulp Fiction really did change the way moves were made for the rest of the 90s.

AP came out in 99. It's barely 90s.

Clueless is a much better choice. Reality Bites as well.
