Watching Addams Family Values now. Always loved these movies. Raul Julia is perfect. Angelica Houston is sexy as hell. All that great dark humor in a family friendly movie.

It doesn't get much better when we're talking TV to movie. Not many get it as "right" as Addams Family did.

The ones that do it right are the ones that are an homage and parody of the original show at the same time.

21 Jump Street
Addams Family
Brady Bunch

I've heard that In the Heat of the Night was very good as a tv show and movie.. although I can't really watch that movie more than once like I can the Addams Family.

I've never seen an episode of the show, but The Fugitive made a really good movie.

Everything mentioned so far has been good.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is my favorite movie based on a TV show. But I also like the Fugitive and Wayne's World.

The Lineup (1958)

A very late noir (based on a now forgotten, Dragnet-ish TV series) directed by Don Siegel (Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, Dirty Harry) and featuring a great performance by Eli Wallach as a vicious drug dealer. Also has a memorable climax on the San Francisco Interstate (then under construction).

Probably but I still liked the TV show better. Raul Julia was a great Gomez but I didn't like Angelica Huston as Morticia.
