Haven't seen toliver on the field the last few drives on offense or defense. Did they mention why?

Maybe so.

I just like those corners who can cover and come up and lay the wood.

Coach pulled him for not being physical.

It was hard to watch and I only got about fifteen in. Didn't even get to see him on D.

Not sure if serious. Just didn't know if he got hurt or something.

Hope these kids don't read this board.I think most probably do read here.

Our coaches want him, apparently a lot of other coaches want him, and that is good enough for me.
He hasn't even got here yet and people are bashing him. Please

Remember last season when everyone was calling Lorenzo Carter overrated because he had a bad game at the beginning of the season. Those same fans were hoping he picked LSU on NSD.

LSU fans who follow recruiting can't wait for Toliver II to get to Baton Rouge.

I can't freaking wait until Tolliver is in Baton Rouge. I'm not bashing the kid, nothing like that. I'm just now watching the game and every play he's running away from the tackle. I understand he's playing both ways, but it's just weird to me. Again not bashing him. He's a tremendous athlete who I can't wait to see in purple n gold, just confused about the way he's playing.

As long as Tolliver isn't playing qb, that's all I'm concerned about. It was pretty evident that team lacked a true qb. I didn't really see one time where tolliver was targeted on defense. Think that GA team was just better and it showed.

I watched every down of this game and this was my conclusion as well. At first I didn't think it was a big deal and then it started happening on nearly every play that he got close to the ball carrier.

No doubt he's a great athlete, but I challenge anyone who watched that game to come away with a different take. I would bet that the scouts took notice as well and if he continues to play like that he will drop in the rankings.

I watched some of the game and easily came to the conclusion that Bufford had 10 times better coaching than Toliver's team. Trinity ran maybe 10 plays and their defense was see ball get ball with zero technique.

As for Toliver straying away from contact, I'm not too worried about it. He was going both ways and it's the first game. Yes it might be dissapointing but LSU isn't recruiting him to be the best tackler. He's a lock down cover corner and that what we'll ask him to do at LSU and he will learn to tackle once he gets here. Not many corners (esp. in High school) like to make tackles. To me, a lot of people are over reacting about it but that's just make take.

Regardless, he'll be an incredicble player for LSU and he does nothing but rep LSU everywhere he goes.

Hate to say it, but I noticed it. It was like he didn't want anyone to violate his personal space of about six yards on defense.

He was always about the same distance away whenever a tackle was made. But, then again I was a dumb-arse and comparing him to Honey Badger and thinking after every play how the Badger would have been in the scrum trying to strip the ball.

It's really not fair to compare any player to the Badger since he was pretty much one of a kind during his time at LSU.

His team, for all the highly ranked players, didn't look very good at all. He may be trying to save himself for college so he can show up at LSU healthy.

This.

He was asked to carry his team on his back last night and didn't have much help around him.

He's an athlete.

This. I wouldn't expect him to be out there hunting for contact. He's hurt and that team is screwed.

I didn't see the game, only read the comments. I would surmise that this was more or less a scrimmage and there is no need to go full tilt for a meaningless game. Save it for something that counts. At least I hope that's why he was easing up.

Hopefully this is the reason, but real competitors have a hard time not giving 100%. It's how they are wired.

I heard the exact same things about Justin Maclin in HS.

So you play safe the entire season in fear of getting hurt? That makes zero sense ha. If someone did this they would most likely lose games anyways so why worry about getting hurt and your team being screwed. If you aren't playing at 100% you're hurting your team anyways.

You mean like Deion Sanders did? He turned out pretty good.
