It peters out in your late 20's or whenever you get married. You just can't relate as well in your late twenties and thirties and older as you did in your teen, early to mid twenties. That was my experience at least.

You also start to value your time. "Real friends" are a commitment. I keep people an arms length and don't see it as a bad thing.
