Why'd they replace the crystal football with that ugly trophy?

I understand the BCS system is no more.. but why'd they get rid of the trophy? The new one is hideous.

So there are two trophies? The Coaches Trophy and the playoff trophy?

The new trophy looks better up close. The playoff committee needed a new trophy for branding purposes.
