will argue that he was an awesome character though, because he was.

No doubt. I thought Jamie Hector was one of the best actors of the series. That says a lot.

Marlo is the product of natural selection. He evolved from the game a specimen without the weaknesses of the ones that came before him and that's why they couldn't handle him.

He climbed to the top and had his name ring out and did it without drawing much of any police attention. And when he finally did attract police attention, he made it damn near impossible for them to catch him or any of his crew. And when they finally did bust him, he STILL got off with less than a slap on the wrist. Plus, he went to war with Omar and came out alive.

He really never made any mistakes and the only reason he didn't still wear the crown at the end of the show was because of bad luck and a couple bat shite crazy detectives who were willing to throw away their careers to not let him win.

This is just so wrong its funny.

Marlo was on the radar from day 1.

He just wasn't on the familiarity level with the police like the other guys. They didnt really kniw him but definitely knew of him.

Never understood why the CO-OP didn't make an attempt to take out Chirs and Snoop or Marlo himself once he eff the CO-OP. Avon would have been ready to go to war.

String was using it. The Game was a means to an end. He played it because he had the ill-fortune to be born black, probably less affluent, and in Baltimore. To climb the ladder he needed resources, and he used the system to his advantage. He wanted out of the streets.

Stringer didn't understand that the white collar game was rigged against him from the start. That's where he fricked up. He tried to jump from one ladder to another when he should have stayed on the first ladder. Marlo dipped his toes in the white collar world, but it took him seconds to understand he couldn't hack it in that world.

I think it's funny that Marlo achieved the thing Stringer wanted, and for Marlo, it was a horrible prison and he returned to the streets. My name is my name.

Everyone forgets that if the police hadn't shown up, Avon and Slim Charles had like 20+ dudes ready to go blow up Marlo at the rim shop.

Wee-Bey, Bird, and Stink-Em were a pretty formidable group.

He was too powerful at that time. The co-op was pretty weak once Stringer stopped running it.

Exactly, and the only reason they didn't catch him earlier is because the police force was so fricked up at the time, they had no money

Marlo was badass because he was ruthless. But Stinger was my favourite drug boss on the show.

Marlo was too inflexible - somewhere in the middle is better.

My favorite gangsters were Bodie and Slim Charles - I'd be most like them if I were in a criminal organization. Maybe Cutty, when I got older.

I'm more talking about when he was running it. It was when String met Marlo in one of the apts in Hamsterdam. Marlo was talking slick and didn't want any parts of the Co-op. Right after that, String and the rest of co-op should have put the hit out on Marlo or at least Chris and Snoop.

that's what made his character so good.

I kept finding myself hoping Barksdale's crew would overrun his crew.

just didn't happen though.

even though Stringer and Avon were kinda on the outs, Marlo was going to make his move and get to the top because it was his time.

He was a cold blooded badass who didn't give a frick about anybody.

Stringer was my favorite, then Avon, then Marlo

Exactly. And for the people saying Marlo got what String wanted, bullshite. He went to one function, and he was basically there as Levy's bitch. He knew that wasn't him. All his strengths didn't mean shite in that world. Drop a lion in a tank with a hungry shark. The lion might have been the baddest mofo in his world, but he's done there. Marlo was a lion in a tank full of hungry sharks. He GTFO because he could see it.

Major Crimes knew him, but none of the higher ups gave a damn about him until they found the bodies in the vacants. Hell, Major Crimes didn't even really care about him. Lester moved on to Kintel Williamson because he didn't care about Marlo because he only cared about the bodies, and as far as he knew Marlo wasn't killing anyone. Who cares if a couple detectives in BPD know that you're selling more drugs than everyone else in Baltimore? That's not being on the radar. The only way to get on the radar to that police department was to drop bodies and Marlo was able to rise to the top without them knowing he was dropping bodies.
