No. Lemon was arguing that he could and did buy a fully automatic AR 15 in the time it took to go to the store and step up to the counter.

They guy arguing with him originally made the assertion that not anybody can just go to the store and pick up a fully auto weapon that day. Lemon said he was wrong and that the difference between semi-automatic and fully automatic was semantics. The guy went on to describe the legal definition of a fully automatic weapon. Lemon responded by essentially saying that the legal definition doesn't fit his definition.

It was as if I was watching someone trying to argue with a straight face (and as the OP said, a little indignantly) that the difference between a Monte Carlo off the lot and a Sprint Cup car is the sponsorship stickers.



ETA: That whole segment was a clusterfrick. It was basically Lemon and some other guy complaining about white people in Ferguson buying guns legally in response to the riots.

Bonus: Don Lemon asked the guy he was arguing with if his stance on the gun buying process would change if all the STL gang members decided to go through the proper legal channels to purchase weapons...Seriously...What. The. frick.

Sure Don, I'll be right there with you to outright abolish all private gun ownership the minute all the STL gang bangers go through background checks, wait periods, and pay retail prices for their guns.
