There has been several helpful posts. You guys have steered me to a completely different bike than I originally was thinking of. I'm going to ride several different styles and brands but I am leaning toward a fat tired cruiser with a Thudbuster seat post. This arrangement may be the best setup to minimize the pain.

Most interesting is bikesdirect.com's Mango Cruizer Longboard FT3 and in 2nd is Gravity Cruiser Snake Eyes 3 Speed. These kinda take me back to my early days of riding. Hopefully I'll be able to ride through the pain.

FYI, my medical situation is a direct result of riding/racing dirt bikes. It fugged me up for life. I'm just trying to salvaged what is left.
