Hit enter early. ooops. Founds some pics on my phn and thought I'd share since my game cameras haven't been getting a nothing worth a shite. We use to have a stickied thread for this but guess its gone
From my trip to Kansas
This is the old homestead where the ranch house was. It burned about 15 years ago and just the corral and outbuildings are left
The river in the distance is the Salt River where it meets the Cimarron River. I think. That valley is Collier flats. Named after a camp cook in a cowboy camp that was killed when the last Indian raids took place. A band of Indians left a reservation in Oklahoma and headed north to their hunting grounds killing everyone they came across. They were eventually killed/captured in Nebraska. The cook named Collier was taken from the camp and later found hanging 4 miles to the north.
This is about an acrea low spot surrounded by trees in the middle of 400 acres of wheat. the deer trails here were like cattle trails and this spot was loaded with quail. I plan to bow hunt it next year.
Almost stepped on him
Set of horns found last year on the ranch
Would mount almost every one of these

Can you sell day hunts for quail after deer season is over? How are the leases set up? I might be interested in making a trip up...

Nice pics. I'm a mountain person but find something strangely appealing about the prairie.
