The 80s were certainly a better time to be a kid.

I was born in the late 80s, and maintain that being a kid in the 90s was unparalleled. We had the cartoons and programming, Nickelodeon at its peak, the Disney Renaissance and beginnings of Pixar, and took huge leaps in technology including home PCs, cell phones, and video games. I think I was in the last generation of kids to get the childhood where you spend lots of time outside as it became increasingly better to stay in and play Nintendo or Playstation. Even my brother who's a decade younger was inside much more than I ever was.

But I digress...I've always thought the 80s would be a great time to be college/young adult age. Music was much better than today and social interaction was much more prevalent. Technology is great and has made our lives easier, but has also hindered society in many ways unfortunately.
At the same time, it's increased quality of life with advances in healthcare curing diseases once thought a death sentence, prolonging life expectancy, etc. It's a give and take thing I think...you have to take the good with the bad.

Yeah but you missed out on being a teenager in the 90s which was even better than being a kid in the 90s or 80s.
