there better be a way for public schools to play them if they want. point is, staying under the LHSAA umbrella was the best thing to happen for all schools. it keeps them following the same rules and teams are guaranteed to be able to play each other if they want. with a separate association you're not guaranteed either of those two things

This is exactly why the split will eventually be a complete split, if not sooner than later. Private schools have to compete for kids, so why would they voluntarily hinder themselves to help out public schools? I think what you are seeing in the NCAA will creep up into the LHSAA within a decade. Privates actually would be better off without the publics, especially at the gates when they play urban public schools. I can tell you that the privates are already taking a big hit money wise now that they lost 1-2 playoff games. That's 10-20k a season. That's a big deal for them.

I just hope it will happen so that Simsboro and East Iberville are no longer helping to make rules for 5A schools...

just as long as big public schools get to go with them... I want to see a small school LHSAA squirm when the public and private powerhouses are doing their own thing
