And now, aside from determining seeding, they have made the regular season completely irrelevant, as every school makes the playoffs.
not in nonselect 3A, 4A, and 5A...

I'm done with high school football until this matter is fixed (lord only knows if that will ever happen), and what I'd like to see is the Catholic high schools around the state (maybe some private non-Catholics schools as well) drop completely out of the LHSAA and form their own league/association. It has happened in other states, and it could/should be done here
there better be a way for public schools to play them if they want. point is, staying under the LHSAA umbrella was the best thing to happen for all schools. it keeps them following the same rules and teams are guaranteed to be able to play each other if they want. with a separate association you're not guaranteed either of those two things

This is exactly why the split will eventually be a complete split, if not sooner than later. Private schools have to compete for kids, so why would they voluntarily hinder themselves to help out public schools? I think what you are seeing in the NCAA will creep up into the LHSAA within a decade. Privates actually would be better off without the publics, especially at the gates when they play urban public schools. I can tell you that the privates are already taking a big hit money wise now that they lost 1-2 playoff games. That's 10-20k a season. That's a big deal for them.
