This has now been shown to be a lie to the police in a potential murder investigation.

Do we know if he made the same sworn statement that he is perpetuating in the media

I've never heard of a witness being charged under these circumstances.
People go to jail all the time for lying in investigations. See Martha Stewart. If she had told the truth she never would have gone to jail.

I do however agree that the very short time frame of the shooting would make it pretty hard to PROVE that he lied.

But....We all know he probably lied. Just can't prove it.

Accountability. Start holding some people accountable for false statements intentionally made to mislead the police and incite violence, rioting and so forth.

Not to mention to try and get another person indicted for murder. Possibly and starting to appear likely falsely.

Link to his statement to the police/feds?

But Martha Stewart was the target of the investigation, Dorian Johnson wasn't.

No She wasn't.

The target was the insider who gave her the information.

She most certainly was not the target.

She was sentenced to 5 months. The Imclone guy was sentenced to 7 YEARS.

When have the Black Panthers burned anything down? They don't have anything on the Tea Party, not to mention the KKK.

Trackfan , quite often i enjoy debating you and you make a number of intelligent, well-thought arguments..... This wasnt one of them. How do you fit the Tea party in a discussion with the black panthers and the KKK?

Feds are investigating this. While I can't produce his sworn testimony from my arse, I suspect it is entirely possible he has told them Brown was shot in the back as he has told the media.

Doesn't seem like an innocent mistake to me.

Accountability. People are screaming for it right now and rioting about it

Door swings both ways IMO. Careful what you ask for.

I'm not a fan of cops most of the time. However, sometimes their actions are justified. This MAY be one of those times.

the facts of this event are basically unknowable, and substantial portions of those with opinions have their mind made up already based on outlook, not facts.

Good point. I wonder how many of the folks calling for Dorian Johnson to be sent to prison based on the idea that he may have lied also think that Mark Furman, a proven liar, should have gone to prison.

If Furman planted evidence which it appears heay have, he should have certainly been prosecuted. No brainer.

Start holding some jackasses accountable, actions change.

Forget planting gloves, we know for a fact that Furman lied on the stand, and that's not a matter of speculation and conjecture.

Give me the specifics if you want my opinion. I don't remember all of them. If it was about his personal life and past, don't much care. If it was about his investigation of the case and he broke the law, prosecute him.

In the present case, if it is shown that Brown's friend lied to investigators about a very material fact as the primary eye-witness, I want him arrested and in jail.
