They did. Once. It's up in the air if they will do it again.
2 years ago, they had a phenomenal run on Jacks from June to November- a small group of guys who fished for them almost daily caught hundreds of them within those months. This prompted a couple of well-known kayakers to reach out to the LASS and organize the Yak-a-Jack tournament the following year.
There was a decent turn out of kayakers, but unlike the previous year, the jacks had not arrived in force. (I think they started catching with some regularity in October. . .) As a result, no Jacks brought in and they ended up raffling off all the prizes, including a KC12 as the top prize. I think they were reluctant to do it again this year after that.
