A non strapped down milk crate would be a bad idea even with a big trout IMO

Ouch. They can hold rods for travel, but you need a Scotty or installed rod holder to fish from. I installed two on my Matna Ray and Commander. Caught many a fish in them.

Just saw the rod getting dragged along elmers. Tried to catch it, but the hard head catfish was too quick.
