Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing

That came on for the 1st time and I know exactly where I was in my car and I told my girlfriend to "hush, I have to hear this." She actually hushed.

Stones - Jumping Jack flash - in my neighbors back yard with my portable radio.

Stones - I Don't Know Why - Sitting at the college bar one afternoon. Sat up straight to listen. Bought Metamorphosis the next day at Shoppers Fair.

Sticky Fingers Album - Woolworth's - stayed there for the whole album.

Good one. I can still remember exactly what I was doing when I first heard it 35 years ago.

Wagon Wheel - Old Crow Medicine Show is another that I really liked immediately.

I remember exactly where I was when I first heard "Regret". Was driving back home to Charlotte from DC and on I95 in Virginia... couldn't wait to get home and share my new discovery with my then wife.

Now there's nothing I want to share with that woman, and I REGRET ever marrying her.

My earliest memory, by far, is riding in the back of my father's beetle with Elton's I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues playing on the radio. So something about the song must have made an impression.

SRV's version of Little Wing.

Growing up, I was never into instrumentals, but then I heard that and was mesmerized.

I don't remember the song but it was by Bob Marley. I'd never heard anything so good.
