To my knowledge PS4 does not support TRIM. Secondly, Linux OS does not need to defrag like windows.

PS uses Orbis OS which is very similair to Unix.

That being said, general arguments are that the advantages of SSD in a PS4 (decrease load time 20-60%) don't outweigh the financial cost of a big SSD. Also they definitely will not last as long.

Dude, throw finances away in the pursuit of performance. Plus I shouldn't even need to be bothered by the sounds and load timed from a mechanical in 2015.

Okay, so going back to PS's OS. Error checking, handling of corrupted data and cached data should follow suit with Linux.

Now did Sony add any additional processes to maintain the health of a drive which needs to last 4-5yr lifespan?
