I couldnt hear you but could see your name at the bottom with the speaker. I had my mic on mute but earbud was in my ear.
I didn't know if you could even chat on this game. I read about people complaining about players not using their mics and I also read somewhere that in game chat wasn't a feature on this game.

I know me and a friend tried to communicate using the mics when we were on a fire team together and I couldn't hear him and he couldn't hear me clearly.

We have all been talking to each other so you may want to check out your setup. You should have been able to hear me.

Finally reached level 21 over the weekend. I've been running a ton of Crucible lately. It's a blast if you can get a solid team together.

This. I don't understand why they don't have a chat feature. It is the main reason the game feels empty.

I was thinking that motes of light had no other purpose than to purchase aesthetic items from the speaker, but you can spend them when Xur comes to town, so definitely stock up and don't waste them with the speaker.

Yeah I knew you could purchase the Exotic engram form Xur with enough motes of light (currently have 25).
I was curious to see if anyone had purchased any of the class items from the Speaker to see if they gave any kind of benefit (since all mention some sort of blessing attached to it) similar to how class items from the factions produce rep for that faction.
I haven't been able to find any information on the internet about the speakers class items.
