Soto not only gets a shot in his UFC debut, but he has only beaten 1 guy that has won a fight in the UFC.

Straight from "Tachi Palace Fights" to a UFC title shot!

Weigh in on fight day as well. I'm ignorant on this type of regulation but have heard it's out there.
Preventing guys from blowing up once they get off the scale the day before and making them scared to cut real hard.

Dana announced that Barao will not get a title shot when he comes back.

Idiots would still cut too much weight.

He didn't deserve it to begin with. Their first fight wasn't close at all. Make him move up to 145 now.

You can't have all these PPVs and stretch them thin.
they arent going to cut them down. dana has already said its an international sport so they need to have alot of events.

Knocking down PPVs does not necessarily equal less events. I understand their desire to run many events all over the globe. But what's the point of 5-6 PPVs each year with shite buy rates?

Compelling discussion aside, this was done is Massachusetts at one point.
"The Massachusetts “double weigh-in” provision calls for a fighter to be weighed in no more than 36 hours before his fight and again on the night of the fight. The fighter cannot weigh more than 1.0625 times his initial weight on the second weigh-in.
The formula means the higher the weight, the higher the allowable weight gain. For example, a fighter contracted to fight at 135 pounds can’t come in higher than 143.4375 pounds on fight night, 170 pounders cannot exceed 180.625, 205 pounders cannot exceed 217.8125 pounds, etc.
According to the regulation, fighters who don’t make weight “shall … forfeit the fight and be subject to further penalties and sanctions, including, but not limited to, forfeiture of their purse, a fine, suspension and/or revocation of their license.”

How about weigh-ins 2+ days before the fight....maybe Wednesday night?
These guys will be more refreshed & energized for Saturday's fights. Less pull-outs maybe & better cardio/performances.
