A parent's view is very much different than that of a youth's view. Congrats to your parents for raising a fine young man but if you think you can do "exactly" the same thing and get the "exact" same result....good luck. Times and technology change by the minute. You obviously do not have any children now so that means you are at the least 14 years away from having a 14 y/o. I promise you that if and when you do have kids....when they hit 14 you won't be doing exactly what your parents did. A version of it sure...but you will adjust with the times and have to do something more or different.

My sister uses this same crap with her 14 year old boy. I don't agree with it, but he knows about it, so I guess that keeps him from doing shite like that.
