I don't understand how people can be so irresponsible with their pets. I was outside this evening speaking with a neighbor and his young son and dog were running down our sidewalk playing. Another neighbor has a very large and aggressive sheep dog and was allowing his young daughter to walk it with the leash tied around her waist. The dog weighs more than she does. When the sheep dog saw my neighbors dog it drug the young girl across the street and tried to attack my friend's dog and son. I had to physically strike the sheep dog across the head and aggressively back it down to get it to stand down.

What does the dog owner do? Sends the kid back out on the street with the dog!

frick irresponsible pet owners.

Rant over

What about the irresponsible neighbor who didn't have his dog on a leash?

Just call the cops, they'll take care of it.

punch? slap? karate chop? I'm just curious.

Did it go after you at all after you hit it?

Should've put the dog in a sleeper hold and then pissed on him. That gives you permission to yell "HE SLEEP!"

Those sheep dogs are known to be aggressive....they even give some coyotes a hard time.

It's all good though because at the end of the day, all sheep dogs are trying to do is earn an honest, 9-5 living.

Have you considered the idea that the sheep dog was "herding" the kid. I know Border Collies do that sometimes. It doesn't mean it was attacking. That could have just been your assumption.

If that's the case, perhaps you struck the dog unnecessarily.
