All I want to know is
How did Ranaudo look in the batter's box?
Did he hack away?

0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts. Bunted into a fielder's choice in his other at-bat. But on one of his strikeouts, on a 3-2 pitch, he took it on the outside part of the plate and tossed his bat away and started to 1B as though it was a ball. Batters do this all the time, of course, but for a pitcher to do it, well, not the best move, as he is relying on that same ump to see things his way when he's back out on the mound. Umps always seem to take that move as an attempt to show them up. In Ranaudo's case, in only his second major league game, I'm sure he wasn't thinking that far ahead.
