The only one I can remember is the Aurora theater shooter. There was an LA bank robbery about 20 years ago where the perps were wearing body armor.
The number of unarmed civilians killed by po-po is unquestionably higher in spite of the fact that there are a lot more civilians than LEOs.

I think his was just a ballistic vest which guards against shrapnel and small 9mm.
