You seem like you keep up with new music pretty well. How many albums would you estimate you listen to in an average year? I'm just curious.

It's hard to say and I really haven't kept up as well this year as in the past. I'd say I've probably really listened to (more than once or twice) 15-20 new releases so far this year. I'm always discovering old stuff in addition to that as well.

I'm the same way. When I listen to a band I like that's been around for a while, I try to back-listen to all their stuff. For example, the first Spoon album I ever heard was Transference in 2010. I loved it and decided to go back and listen to all their albums, and now they're one of my very favorite bands. So, such projects can be worthwhile, and I usually find myself trying to strike a balance between listening to new stuff, and taking a band-at-a-time approach.

I have a friend -- [link=(he has a music blog)]https://www.bdogsmusicblog.com/[/link] -- who probably listens to 10 albums a month without breaking a sweat. He works for a record company, though, so music is sort of his job.
